Enjoy Playing Centipede

Atari launched Centipede in 1980. This arcade classic sends a long insect down a garden grid. Mushrooms pop up and block shots.

Players guide a small shooter along the bottom of the screen. A single button fires darts upward. A strike splits the centipede into shorter worms. Spiders hop through the field and trap players with sudden moves.

The screen resets at the end of each round. A new centipede charges across the grid. Speed climbs with each wave. The action pulls players into a struggle under constant fire. Retro collections and online portals still offer this throwback.
