Past Balanced Editions gave every Pokemon a base stat total of six hundred. Fans thought that made many creatures feel the same. Others saw altered stats as unbalanced. CounterBalanced Edition changes that. It aims for fair play and an authentic feel. Each creature earns up to three upgrades.
This game uses a rating from Smogon. Smogon grades every creature for competitive play. A first boost adds a stat bonus and helps certain types. Another boost comes from a creature’s total stats. One more upgrade goes to those that never evolve or keep a low total. Legendary Pokemon miss that upgrade. Slakoth receives a Truancy Bonus of fifteen points. The game marks stats with colors to highlight strengths. Move lists change to make Ember stronger and improve accuracy. Every monster gains fresh icons and sprites. Froslass joins the roster.
